Via Autocar – Revered British sports car brand, TVR, is roaring back to production with an incredible all-new Cosworth powered sports car, engineered in collaboration with F1 and road car design legend, Gordon Murray.
TVR fired up its new Cosworth V8 for the first time a few days ago – and discovered it had so much grunt that it overloaded the dyno. Company bosses Les Edgar and John Chasey were visiting Cosworth’s Northampton works to view and hear a prototype of their new car’s Le Mans engine and watch it do a simulated lap of the famous circuit, but barely a minute into the test its torque output so exceeded expectations that the test equipment had to be shut down and reconfigured.
A few minutes later the re-engineered, all-alloy Ford ‘Coyote’ V8 completed its test lap in 3min 40sec [...]
Good news, Bespoke Performance is now on Flickr! To celerbrate, we’ve uploaded a massive 116 photos taken over the weekend from our trip to Brighton to watch the 2015 speed trials. Competeting along with the VUHL 05, see select images below, was a host of other cars and even some familiar faces. Check out the complete set of pictures here and follow us on Flickr to stay updated.
We took the VUHL 05 for a whistle stop tour of London this weekend. One of the more unusual sites was Leake Street tunnel, commonly known as the graffiti tunnel. Take a look at the pictures after the jump.
This weekend Formula 1 heads to Belgium, specifically the Circuit De Spa-Francorchamps, more commonly known as Spa. We usually head to Spa in May for the Classic event. Here is a video showcasing the highlights from the trip in 2014. Highlights for the 2015 will follow shortly. Don’t forget to share the video and to keep up to date with Bespoke, follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our YouTube channel.
The VUHL 05 is a road-legal lightweight supercar that has been precision engineered for the track and endowed with exhilarating performance.
It has innovations lacking on even the most expensive of supercars. They include an in-built HD camera with console-mounted control that allows trackday enthusiasts to record their drives at the push of a button, thereby fine-tuning their technique and improving lap times.
The VUHL’s unique X-Vario platform is constructed from 6061-T6 aluminium extrusions and aluminium honeycomb. Its extreme torsional stiffness allows the suspension to be finely tuned for road and track, as required.
The car's provenance is truly international - its handling was optimised in the UK and the carbon fibre bodies are fabricated in Canada, while the chassis production and final assembly are conducted in Mexico City by Adman Leku.
