The wait is over! Meet the new TVR Griffith. Designed from the ground up and powered by a Ford 5 litre V8 engine, tuned by the folks at Cosworth, this does not dissapoint. Performance wise, figures currently being chucked around are 400BHP per tonne, with a peak power of 500BHP. But what about speed? TVR haven’t skimped there either. They say it will do 0 to 62 in under 4 seconds, with a top speed in excess of 200MPH. On the design front, it’s perhaps not as radical as some of their past cars, such as the Sagaris, but it’s striking and impressive. Note the side exhausts behind the front wheels! To keep it light (below 1250kg), the body is a carbon composite material – no more fibreglass.
I was a little delayed in posting last year’s photos, a little under 12 months late, and I was determined to get this year’s photos out on time. This year we returned to Spa, taking for a second year running, our VUHL 05 demonstrator. The VUHL was masterfully piloted by Mark through all weathers whilst all other members of the Bespoke team opted for a vehicle which could better protect them from the elements. The 2017 convoy was mainly comprised of TVRs, with the exception of the VUHL and (shock, horror) a noisy Japanese saloon. Thanks once again to everybody who came and for making the trip a good one. Bellow are a selection of photos from this year’s adventure. We’ll return next year for more sun (hopefully), beer and good times. In the meantime, I [...]
Last year we returned to Belgium for what has become an annual pilgrimage for Bespoke and its customers. This (last) year we decided to be even more adventurous than usual and took a car without a windscreen, or roof for that matter, our VUHL 05 demonstrator. A variety of cars joined us in convoy, from TVRs to a Lotus and, even though we’re ashamed to say it, the odd Mercedes (bring a proper car next time Matt). Thanks once again to everybody who came and thanks for making the trip a good one. Bellow are a selection of photos from the trip. Bring on 2017!
Just in case you didn’t already think the standard VUHL 05 was fast enough, this years Goodwood Festival of Speed sees the unveiling of the new VUHL 05RR, a lighter, faster, track-focused younger brother of the VUHL 05.
Iker Echeverria, VUHL Technical Director, said: “I am so looking forward to returning to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year, with our new 05RR car. We have upgraded all the car’s systems to make it faster, more engaging and even more track focused. We feel very close to the UK market, as around 50% of our componentry is developed and produced in Britain, and it is the place we debuted our first car.”
The new VUHL 05RR is the result of extensive track development of the 05, combined with aggressive mass reduction and aero programmes [...]

TVR has just announced that its new car will be produced at a custom-built facility in Ebbw Vale Enterprise Zone, South Wales. Contracts to locate the new TVR factory in Wales were signed on 18th March 2016 and the deal was officially announced by Rt. Hon Carwyn Jones, the First Minister of Wales, during a press conference this morning. The precise location of the factory had not yet been decided upon but TVR is looking at several specific options. A separate announcement is planned in the coming weeks.
Les Edgar, Chairman of TVR said:
“This is a fantastic opportunity both for TVR and the Welsh Government. South Wales is becoming a major hub for automotive and motorsport technology and development and the area is a serious opportunity for business development and job [...]
This year, after an 8 year break, the London Motor Show returns to take place at Battersea Park. Bespoke will be there, this time representing VUHL and the 05, a unique lightweight road-legal track car.
As the intro to this post suggests, the VUHL 05 is designed for use on both road and track. It has a power-to-weight ratio of 410bhp/ton and ‘uncompromising build quality and rigorous attention to detail’ that sets it apart from its competitors.
If you haven’t already been to come and see the VUHL 05 at our showroom in Hertfordshire, then why not view it in the flesh from the 5th to 8th May 2016 at the Motor Show. For more details, get in contact with us now or visit the London Motor Show website [...]
Via Autocar – Revered British sports car brand, TVR, is roaring back to production with an incredible all-new Cosworth powered sports car, engineered in collaboration with F1 and road car design legend, Gordon Murray.
TVR fired up its new Cosworth V8 for the first time a few days ago – and discovered it had so much grunt that it overloaded the dyno. Company bosses Les Edgar and John Chasey were visiting Cosworth’s Northampton works to view and hear a prototype of their new car’s Le Mans engine and watch it do a simulated lap of the famous circuit, but barely a minute into the test its torque output so exceeded expectations that the test equipment had to be shut down and reconfigured.
A few minutes later the re-engineered, all-alloy Ford ‘Coyote’ V8 completed its test lap in 3min 40sec [...]
